GROW GREATER ENGLEWOOD-BACKYARD GARDEN PROGRAM

Project details

This program involves the planning, installation and ongoing maintenance of 100 edible gardens. All of the sites are located in an urban city and the goal of the program is to empower the community to become self-sustaining in the event of emergency by offering free edible landscaping services. Additionally, the program hosts internships and apprenticeships that train youth in the community to engage with agriculture, carpentry and cooking.

My contributions have been pivotal in implementing the goals of this program. As Lead Backyard Garden Program Steward, I recruit and train the program team and oversee site designs, installation and ongoing-maintenance as well as the facilitation of youth programming.
